about

A November jam session (known in certain circles as, “The Sore Tooth Session”) by the Jesse Seguin Anxiety- Jason Newton, Ken Brennan, and Bobby Cross (Darren Clarke was out with a “sore,” cracked in half, tooth) was the inspiration for this album- The Sound of Snow Falling. Only the first song on this album was originally recorded during that session however the spirit of that night is a major part of the overall feel here. The bulk of the musical work for the album was done by Jason Newton and without Jason’s devotion to this project it simply wouldn’t have been completed.

The idea of this album was to musically try and capture the spirit of a winter walk- the magic, the melancholy, the intimacy, the nostalgia, the joy. Winter naturally evokes a wide variety of feeling so it’s only natural that the past comes up, that loneliness comes up, that love comes up, that Buffalo comes up.

We were very happy to enlist the the talents of Stephen Del Duca (aka Del Stephen) for this album, our favourite Cheerio stealing son of a gun, played a substantial role in two tracks and his Northern Lights synth flourish can be found ebbing and flowing throughout the album. Additionally, Wake Chiltons guitarist Mark Lane was kind enough to lend his particular brand of Juicy Fruit acoustic guitar to a couple tracks. Thank you to these fine folks as well as all the family and friends who shared their wit, their memories, their charm, with us.
